Food Technology

Through this module students will gain exposure to the type of work a food technologist might perform. This includes such tasks as evaluating consumer product preferences, testing for quality control and investigating the blanching method of preserving food. Students will exercise creativity as they try to invent a “new” food product.

  • Conducting a Product Preference Test & Quality Control
  • Experimenting with Food Preservation
  • Using a Test Kitchen to Develop a New Food Product
  • Expanding a Recipe to Production Scale

  • Gram Scale
  • Beaker, Test Tubes and Clamp
  • Graduated Cylinder & Eyedropper
  • Lab Coat and Disposable Gloves
