Recipients of the Animal Care (Adapted) Digital Badge Credential have demonstrated concept proficiency and completed the following tasks:

Activity One: Rules About Handling Animals

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Read the “Rules for Handling Animals” sheet.
3.     Ask your teacher to give you the “Quiz on Handling Animals.”
4.     The teacher will read a sentence about working in a pet shop.  You will answer yes or no.
5.     Your teacher will mark your answers on the quiz.  Then he or she will count how many you answered correctly.
6.     Your teacher will talk to you about your answers.
7.      Put your materials away.

Activity Two: Putting Animals into Categories

1.     Gather all materials.
2.     Put the Category Cards on the table.
3.     Mix the Animal Pictures and place on table.
4.     Match the animal on one of the pictures to the correct category.
5.     Put the picture on the correct category.
6.     Continue until all the pictures are on the correct category.
7.     Let your teacher check your work.
8.      Put your materials away.

Activity Three:  Where Do Small Animals Live?

1.     Gather all materials.
2.     Put the Animal Sorting Home Cards 1 and Animal Sorting Home Cards 2 on the table.
3.     Mix the Animal Pictures and place on table.
4.     Match the animal on one of the pictures to the correct home.
5.     Put the picture on the correct category.
6.     Continue until all the pictures are on the correct home.
7.     Let your teacher check your work.
8.     Put away your materials.

Activity Four:  What Do Small Animals Eat?

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Put the Food for Pets 1 cards and Food for Pets 2 cards on the table.
3.     Mix the animal pictures and place on table.
4.     Match the animal on one of the pictures to the correct food.
5.     Put the picture on the correct category.
6.     Continue until all the pictures are on the correct food.
7.     Let your teacher check your work.
8.     Put your materials away.

Activity Five:  Finding the Right Fit: Large or Small

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Put the Large Dog Matching card and the Small Dog Matching card on the table.
3.     Mix the Large or Small Matching Cards and place on table.
4.     Match the item on one of the cards to the large dog or small dog.
5.     Put the picture on the correct dog.
6.     Continue until all the pictures are on the correct dog.
7.      Let your teacher check your work.
8.      Put your materials away.

Activity Six:  Following a Schedule for Pet Care

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Cut out an activity on the Job Assignment page.
3.     Glue the activity in the correct place on the Daily Schedule.
4.     Continue cutting and gluing the assignments onto the daily schedule.
5.     When you are finished, you will have a schedule of the jobs to finish today at the pet shop.
6.     Have your teacher check your work.
7.     Put your materials away.

Activity Seven:  Stocking Shelves in a Pet Shop

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Put the Stocking Shelves Pictures on the table.
3.     Mix the Stocking Shelves items and place on table.
4.     Find the correct shelf for the item.
5.     Put the item on the correct shelf.
6.     Continue until all the items are on the correct shelf.
7.      Let your teacher check your work.
8.      Put your materials away.

Activity Eight:   Purchasing Items to Care for a Pet

1.     Gather materials.
2.     Choose the pet you want to buy.  Find that pet care sheet.
3.     Count out the play $1 bills for each item on the pet care sheet.
4.     Count the money to see the total amount.  Write the answer on the paper.
5.     Use the calculator to add up the cost of each item on the pet care sheet.
6.     The answer when you counted should be the same as when you added.
7.     Have your teacher check your work.
8.     Put your materials away.
